Predictive Maintenance for Airline Parts with Salesforce Service Cloud

Moog is an American-based designer and manufacturer of motion and fluid controls and control systems for applications in aerospace, defense, industrial, and medical devices.

To stay on top of parts maintenance with real-time insights, Moog engaged with Atrium to execute a part failure analysis pilot with Salesforce Service Cloud. They wanted better insight into the key data features that impact the reliability of parts maintained by Moog on the 787.

Predictive AI replacement insights + proactive communication with airlines

By pulling in multiple data sources, including flight usage and repair order details, our team built predictive AI models to identify the components with the highest likelihood to fail. We built Tableau dashboards to surface thse insights and operationalize service processes to address high-risk parts.

The project expanded to also capture critical component insights by incorporating in-flight messaging data to identify the number of cycles (takeoffs/landings) that had the highest correlation for failure rates. We implemented Heroku with Mulesoft to facilitate proactive collaboration with airlines on maintenance data visibility.

The insights gained from these intelligent systems led to process improvements for proactive parts replacement, driving significant ROI for Moog. It has improved their ability to manage service-level agreements and monetize service contracts with their customers. And with predictive insights into parts maintenance, it helps Moog further their mission to protect aircraft readiness.
