Salesforce Partner Cloud and PRM Consulting Services

Give partners the autonomy to transact, and give your channel team the data to see which partners actually drive pipeline.

Ask a channel leader how their partner portal is doing and you will usually hear a login number. Ask how much pipeline came from partners who completed enablement last quarter and the answer gets vague, which is a sign the portal was built as a document repository instead of a place partners transact.

Atrium’s Salesforce PRM consulting practice starts from the partner’s day rather than the platform’s feature list. We map where partners lose time, what they cannot do without emailing you, and which of those moments affect revenue, then build the portal that removes them.

What Is Salesforce Partner Cloud?

Salesforce Partner Cloud is a portfolio brand, not a single product you can buy as a line item. It covers three separately sold offerings: Partner Relationship Management (PRM), Partner Ecosystem Management (PEM), and Channel Revenue Management, which is quote-only and targets physical-goods channels with channel inventory tracking, rebates, and payouts. All three are add-ons to Sales Cloud rather than standalone platforms, and Partner Cloud requires Enterprise edition or greater.

Here is the part that surprises most buyers. You do not buy “a Salesforce partner portal.” You buy Sales Cloud, which holds the accounts, leads, opportunities, and approval processes your partners transact against. You then buy the PRM or PEM add-on, which provisions Partner Community licenses and the Experience Cloud entitlement those licenses carry. Then you build the site itself with the Partner Central template in Experience Builder. That chain sets your licensing model, your capacity limits, and what the portal can do, and it is worth getting right before anyone designs a screen.

Atrium is a Salesforce consulting partner that designs and implements partner experiences on Salesforce Partner Cloud, the portfolio brand covering Partner Relationship Management (PRM), Partner Ecosystem Management (PEM), and Channel Revenue Management. Atrium’s work spans partner onboarding, deal registration, lead distribution, partner enablement, market development funds, and channel analytics, delivered on Experience Cloud with the Partner Central template and integrated with Sales Cloud.

The Expensive Decisions Are Made Before the Build Starts

Licensing model, Aura versus LWR, and whether enablement connects to opportunity data are the three choices that set what a partner program costs over five years. All three get decided in the first few weeks, which is why most Atrium engagements open with an assessment rather than a sprint plan.

What Ships Inside Salesforce Partner Cloud

Deal flow and lead handling

Deal Registration lets partners submit deals for approval before working them, which gives you early pipeline visibility and clean channel conflict management, and it is configured through registration processes, Lead record types, a global action, and approval workflows. Lead Distribution routes leads to partner users or partner queues, either assigned by your channel team or self-served by partners from the Lead Inbox component. Both ship with their own reports.

Onboarding, tiering, and enablement

Partner Accounts, the Channel Manager role, Channel Programs and Channel Program Levels, and Partner Scorecards deliver tiered access and performance tracking, surfaced in Salesforce’s pricing table as scorecards and multi-tiered access. Delegated external user administration keeps your team out of user provisioning. Partner Tracks appears as two line items, In-App Guidance and Enablement, and runs on the same Enablement engine as internal Sales Programs.

Partner marketing and funds

Campaign Marketplace gives partners prebuilt, approved journeys, Email Co-branding handles co-branded assets, and Salesforce CMS holds partner collateral. Market Development Funds is a full native object model rather than a marketing abstraction, covering Market Development Budget, Partner Fund Allocation, Partner Fund Request, and Partner Fund Claim, each with page layouts, channel account manager sharing, approval workflows, and reports.

Channel operations, analytics, and agents

The Channel Management Console is the internal cockpit across partner leads, opportunities, and enablement engagement. Channel Analytics supplies dashboards fed directly from CRM plus customizable reports, and a CRM Analytics Dashboard component can be embedded in the site. Partner Connect handles cross-CRM co-selling with field mapping and bidirectional integration, and PRM for Slack automates deal registration in the flow of conversation. PEM adds Partner Enablement and Loyalty Management, Salesforce Spiff for incentive compensation, B2B Referrals, and Account Plans.

Measure Enablement on Pipeline, Not Certifications

Enablement should be measured on pipeline. That is the difference between portals that pay for themselves and portals rebuilt in three years. Most programs track post-sale certification because it is easy to count, and a certified partner seller is not necessarily one who can position your product in a live conversation.

Tie completion data to opportunity data and the questions get answerable: which partners are trained, where they are engaged, and whether that combination produces deals. Partner Tracks makes this measurable without custom reporting, since its programs, milestones, and measures reference real Salesforce records.

Scale is the other half of the design. Partner Community licenses come per member or per login at a one to twenty provisioning ratio, while the Channel Account license is priced per partner account and allows up to 40 pooled partner users, and large ecosystems need Account Role Optimization to stay inside the portal role limit.

Why Atrium for Salesforce Partner Cloud

Channel work, not just portal work

Atrium treats a partner experience as a revenue program, mapping the partner journey with partner sellers and channel operations before designing screens, and tying enablement to opportunity data.

AI-assisted delivery, not billable hours

Every engagement runs on Atrium’s AI-assisted delivery methodology with Andi, our AI Salesforce development consultant, embedded to handle configuration, code, and QA build-out. Traditional consultancies bill hundreds of hours for work Andi can do in minutes, so you invest in outcomes rather than billable hours.

800+ Salesforce certifications across 275+ employees

Atrium holds seats on multiple Salesforce Partner Advisory Boards, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Tableau, Data 360, and Financial Services, so the practice sees roadmap direction before it ships.

Measured, not asserted

We define business outcomes at the start of a program and measure against them with conservative attribution. That method is how the $1B in measured customer impact figure was built, and customer satisfaction across engagements runs at 4.9.

Salesforce Partner Cloud FAQ

Is Partner Cloud something you buy, or is it a bundle name?

Partner Cloud is a portfolio brand rather than a purchasable line item. It covers three separately sold products: Partner Relationship Management, Partner Ecosystem Management, and Channel Revenue Management, all of them add-ons to Sales Cloud rather than standalone platforms. Salesforce’s own pricing FAQ describes Partner Cloud as a cluster of products you purchase in addition to a standard Sales Cloud subscription.

Do you need Sales Cloud before you can license Salesforce PRM, and which edition?

Yes. Sales Cloud at Enterprise edition or greater is a prerequisite, because Sales Cloud holds the accounts, contacts, leads, opportunities, campaigns, quotes, and approval processes that partners transact against. Buying the PRM SKU then provisions Partner Community licenses along with the PRM feature set and the Experience Cloud site entitlement.

What is the difference between PRM at $25 and PEM at $50 per member?

PRM lists at $25 per member per month billed annually and includes Experience Cloud, deal management, and channel analytics. PEM lists at $50 as a superset, adding partner enablement and loyalty management, Salesforce Spiff for incentive compensation, Account Plans, and roughly ten times the platform capacity in custom objects, data storage, and API calls per member.

Is Agentforce for Partners included in a PRM subscription?

No. Agentforce for Partners and Agentforce for Channel Managers are not included in the PRM or PEM per-member price, and both require Flex Credits, Salesforce’s consumption-based pricing. On PRM specifically, Salesforce provides no template for Agentforce for Partners, so plan for build effort as well as consumption cost.

Can you build a modern LWR partner portal, or are you stuck with Aura?

Partner Central, the prebuilt partner template, is an Aura template, and there is no LWR version of Partner Central today. You can build on the Build Your Own (LWR) template for better performance, but you then reimplement components you would otherwise inherit, including Lead Inbox and Campaign Marketplace. This is a scoping decision, not a preference.

What does a Salesforce PRM consulting partner do?

A Salesforce PRM consulting partner maps the partner journey, recommends the licensing approach, designs the deal registration, lead distribution, and enablement processes, builds the portal on Experience Cloud, and integrates it with Sales Cloud. The design phase carries the most value, particularly the decision to tie enablement completion to opportunity data so the program can be measured on partner-sourced pipeline.
